President Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed a new set of officials to serve in the caretaker government following the dissolution of the transitional government, as the country prepares for the general elections scheduled for December 22, 2026.
The appointments cover the Presidency, national ministries, state governments, administrative areas and key national institutions.

The appointments come as South Sudan enters the final three-month period before the scheduled December 22, 2026 general elections, following the enactment of amendments to the National Elections Act.
