Agel Machar raises concerns over poor road from Gogrial West to Twic Mayardit

Agel R. Machar, who is an SPLM loyalist and die-hard supporter of President Salva Kiir, has cried out over the poor road connecting Gogrial West to Wunrok Payam of Twic County in Warrap State.

Agel said, “Only God knows the level of neglect of the road to Wunrok of Twic County from Gogrial.”

“It took us 12 hard hours from Kuajok to Wunrok (90 km or 57 miles)! We will use this election opportunity to replace ineffective SPLM cadres and bring in more vibrant and productive SPLM leaders. We will re-energize the mighty SPLM,” Agel said.

In recent months, Agel, who has been outside the government circle following many failed promises of appointments, locked horns with another SPLM member, who said the slogan for the SPLM campaign during the December elections should be “Road Oyee, hospital without medicines Oyee,” instead of the empty “Oyee” and the distribution of red T-shirts and red caps.

Upon hearing these remarks, Agel came to the defence of the SPLM leadership and said whoever thinks the SPLM has not done its part should wait for the election. Adding that those who challenge the party will come forward with their achievements and compare them with the SPLM’s achievements since 2011.

With Agel now taking a rest in Wunrok after navigating the SPLM’s muddy road for 12 hours, another 12-hour journey awaits him from Wunrok to his payam home village of Pan-Nyok, one of the payams in Twic without a road, despite the community’s overwhelming support for the SPLM but little reward in return
