Twic County Commissioner Atem Madut on Wednesday officially launched a coordinated package of development projects spanning roads, classrooms, boreholes and primary health outreach — the largest single-season investment plan the county has announced in several years.
Officials said the programme prioritises corridors that connect cattle camps to market towns, schools that lost roofs during last year's storms, and water points in payams where women and girls walk long distances daily.
We are not waiting for perfect conditions. We are building with what we have, where our people live, and we will account for every shilling in public.
Community oversight and local jobs
Each project site will include a community monitoring committee drawn from local chiefs, women's groups and youth volunteers. County labour officers said hiring preferences will go to residents from surrounding villages.
