The Twic Mayardit Football Association has appointed Chris Dium Cyier as acting head coach following the resignation of Ring Ghazal, as the association continues its search for a permanent head coach.
The association announced the appointment in a brief statement posted on its official Facebook page on Sunday, saying Cyier would lead the team on an interim basis until a permanent head coach is appointed.
"Chris Dium Cyier will lead the team as the acting head coach as the team moves forward with the appointment of a substantive head coach," the statement said.
Cyier previously served as head coach of Pan-Nyok Football Team in Juba from 2021 to 2023 before taking charge of the Twic Mayardit side on an interim basis.
He succeeds Ghazal, who resigned as head coach, citing interference from the team's secretary general as the reason for his departure.
The association did not specify how long Cyier will serve in the acting role or provide a timeline for appointing a permanent head coach.
The interim appointment comes as the association moves to establish permanent technical leadership ahead of the team's participation in the upcoming Warrap State Peace Tournament.
