The programme aimed to promote physical fitness, discipline, confidence and personal safety among girls in the area.
Participants said the training strengthened their confidence and equipped them with skills to protect themselves from unexpected aggressive attackers including men.
“This training taught me how to protect myself,” participant Achol Ajoung Miyen said.
Another participant, Aluel Deng Kuol, said the programme combined physical fitness with mental well-being. “We learned yoga for peace of mind and boxing for fitness,” she said.
The initiative is part of efforts to empower young girls and promote their well-being and personal safety in Abyei.
