Joseph Mabior’s removal comes just days after revealing the original map showing clearly the borders between Bahr el Ghazal, South Sudan, and Kordofan, Sudan, as of January 1, 1956, without the Abyei Box.
Concealing the original map and promoting the Abyei Box, which was introduced in July 2009, has been the bottom line of the Twic & Ngok war, which led to the loss of many lives between the two sisterly communities.
The Abyei Box included some Twic lands, and any land claimed by the Ngok is also claimed by the Misseriya because Abyei was administratively transferred to Kordofan in 1905 and Misseriya says Abyei has not returned to South Sudan officially and administratively.
The Abyei Box has included many lands from Warrap State, including Akhon, according to Abyei Box drawings.
