South Sudan Electoral Commission Invites Political Parties to Voter Education Campaign Launch

South Sudan's National Elections Commission (NEC) has invited all registered political parties to attend the national launch of a civic and voter education campaign on Monday as preparations continue for the country's planned general elections in December 2026.

In a letter dated July 24, the commission asked each registered political party to nominate one representative to participate in the launch, which it described as a key component of preparations for the elections.

The event is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Medan Rainbow, adjacent to the NEC headquarters at the former Aida Hotel on Bilpam Road in Juba's Munuki area.

"On behalf of the National Elections Commission, I have the honour to invite your political party to attend the National Launch of the Civic and Voter Education Campaign, a key part of the Commission's preparations for the General Elections set for December 2026," the letter, signed by NEC Secretary-General Gabriel Bol Deng, said.

The commission said identical invitations had been sent to all registered political parties to ensure equal and non-partisan participation in the event.

Civic and voter education campaigns are intended to inform citizens about the electoral process, their voting rights and responsibilities, and encourage public participation ahead of elections.
