In a statement on social media, the presidency said the document had been deliberately doctored to mislead the public and urged citizens to disregard it and report it wherever it is shared.
The forged document, presented as a Ministry of Presidential Affairs press release dated July 24, 2026, claims Akol Santo Areech was removed as Private Secretary in the Office of the President and that Moses Rou Ayii was appointed to the position with immediate effect.
"The image circulating is fake and has been deliberately doctored to mislead the public," the statement said.
The presidency warned that producing and distributing manipulated documents is a criminal offence and said anyone found responsible would be investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
